Hi, everyone. Scott Munden here from Huntleigh Group.
Welcome to part four, the final segment in our series on creating a sequence of 90 day roadmaps in order to improve the outcomes of your planning activities.
This is step seven, eight and nine, and it focuses mostly on implementation. So let’s go ahead and get started.
Okay. Step seven, eight and nine is where we get into the actual work.
Step seven is creating that timeline. This is where you’re going to want to create specific deliverables with due dates, ownership, and then cross functional dependencies within those plans.
Step number eight, implement, monitor and adjust. So during the implementation, you’re going to want to be monitoring either in a stand up call once a week or however frequently those need to occur for your plan. And then you’re going to adjust because the best late plans will always have things that come up, so you’re going to adjust accordingly.
Step number nine, review and reflect either during specific milestones or stage gates within the plan or at the end, you’re going to review what worked, what didn’t work, how you can adjust either your future plans or within the current plan so that you can continuously improve.
Okay, so we’ve now given you nine steps in how to create a sequence of 90 day roadmaps.
Always remember that the purpose of this is to improve the outcomes of your overall planning by breaking it down into more detailed and manageable chunks.
One thing that you didn’t notice in the steps, because it’s pervasive throughout the process, is communication. Communication will probably be the key between success and failure in this process. And it really starts with identifying what those clear objectives are and making sure that everybody understands that. And then throughout the process, communicating what’s working, what’s not working, getting the inputs that you need to ensure that things are moving along.
