Hi everyone, Scott Munden here from Huntleigh Technology Group.
Welcome to this segment of our leadership series. I wanted to take a few minutes to introduce a topic that we’re going to be covering in a series of webinars coming up in Q1 and Q2.
The topic is focus and execution.
We’ve all been through or probably have been through different types of planning sessions, whether that’s strategy or budget, operational planning. And then we get to the details of that. And I think that we’ve probably all heard there’s a lot of anecdotal information about the number of initiatives that you can effectively manage. Kind of that three to five rule. Some people say it’s even less than that. And the reason for that is the focus.
The more resources you apply to more initiatives, the easier it is to lose focus and be distracted, which will then affect your execution.
And execution is really the driving force behind realizing your vision. So we’re going to go into details over the coming months about how to keep your focus, specific tips on what to do, what not to do, and then on execution, talking specifically about how to manage longer-term initiatives, that may span multiple budget cycles or even the shorter term initiatives and how to break those into pieces to ensure that you can get to a level of detail in order to manage them properly and then also measure and adjust. Because once you start planning, life is not static and you need to be able to adjust. And the best way to be able to do that is to know exactly where you are at any given time.
So we’ll look forward to going into more details on this and the in the coming months. Look forward on our blog, huntleigh.com. Also here, we post a lot of things here on LinkedIn. So please feel free to avail yourself of that. And we’ll look forward to seeing you soon. Happy holidays. Be safe. Thank you.
