The first 90 days don’t make your organization perfect—but they do make it resilient. The goal isn’t to check off policies. It’s to make sure that when something breaks, your team knows exactly what to do—and what to ignore.

Week 1–2: See What’s at Stake

You can’t protect what you haven’t mapped:
– List your top 5–10 mission-critical systems
– Identify dependencies (people, processes, customers)
– Score visibility: Do we have real-time insight? Are backups tested?

Action Step:

Create a simple “Resilience Priority Grid”—High Impact vs. Low Visibility. Start at the top left.

Week 2–3: Talk to People, Not Just Dashboards

Systems break. People carry the response:
– Interview 3–5 frontline team members: “If [System] went down, what would you do?”
– Document the unofficial workarounds—they usually expose the biggest risk
– Cross-reference response gaps with critical systems

Action Step:

Build a one-page “Role Map” showing who touches what—and who gets left out in a crisis.

Week 4: Score and Summarize the Risk

Don’t overthink it—color-code it:
– Use a Red / Yellow / Green matrix for each critical function
– Keep scoring simple: likelihood + impact + fallback confidence
– Flag the top 3 risks that could cause disruption

Action Step:

Schedule a 30-minute session with leadership: “Here’s what breaks, and here’s what we’d do if it did.”

Day 91 and Beyond: Build From It

A strong start is useless if you don’t build from it:
– Set a date now for your first tabletop drill (Day 90–100)
– Assign one owner per red zone
– Begin building out your fallback playbook—not for compliance, but for continuity

Create a simple “Drill Trigger” checklist: What type of incident should automatically trigger a team response?

Most resilience frameworks are buried in acronyms and audit checklists. This one isn’t. It’s a working plan for businesses who care about staying online, serving customers, and protecting momentum—even when the unexpected hits.

If you can do this in 90 days, you’re not just compliant—you’re resilient.

Let’s walk through your current setup and help you sustain the momentum.
